The High-rise Redevelopment Program will progressively retire and redevelop all the 44 Melbourne public housing towers to deliver thousands more modern and accessible social, affordable and market homes. With a construction pipeline up until 2051, a total of five estates in inner Melbourne are under active redevelopment and at various stages of project feasibility, planning, procurement and delivery. Once complete, the Program will provide homes for 30,000 people, improve the urban amenity of inner-city precincts, foster thriving and inclusive communities and capitalise on the housing potential of the well-located sites.

THE ROLE

In this ongoing role, reporting to the Manager of the Acquisition & Divestment team, you'll assess the property condition of existing and newly acquired properties along with ensuring compliance of Homes Victoria's maintenance contracts. Day-to-day your responsibilities will include:

1. Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
2. Identify and report on property condition through desktop and on-site property inspections, initiate necessary maintenance works through Homes Victoria contractors and track works to completion.
3. Prepare detailed reports on property condition, including works required to meet Government standards.
4. Ensure appropriate maintenance processes are undertaken, measured against agreed contractual and service delivery standards.
5. Where responsible for overseeing, monitoring, or delivering projects, ensure they are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines.

ABOUT YOU

You lead with integrity, act with purpose, and bring the expertise and commitment needed to help deliver these urban renewal projects that are inclusive, respectful and transformative. The skills, experience and mindset we're looking for include:

1. Self-Management: You plan, manage your time well and use your strengths to get results, while staying mindful of the things that could trip you up. You're great at staying focused, organised and are self-aware.
2. Planning and Organising: You set clear goals, work methodically, and know how to adapt when plans change. The systems and processes you put in place keep your work on track. When there's a ‘roadblock' you find a way to work through it.
3. Problem Solving: You ask the right questions, brings others in when needed, and work to find the right solution, following through and adjusting as required.
4. You're confident interpreting the NCC and Australian Standards, and you've got a full driver's licence to get where you need to be whether it's a site visit or meeting.
