School Overview
Lesmurdie Senior High School (SHS) offers a DOEWA specialist program for gifted students, the Lesmurdie Enrichment and Acceleration Program (LEAP). LEAP students have advanced capabilities in maths and science, with engineering, robotics, computer programming, and digital design incorporated into the curriculum and extracurricular activities.
The Role
Lesmurdie SHS is seeking a passionate and innovative Digital Technologies teacher who is responsive to change and can cater to the learning styles of future‐ready students. The successful applicant will facilitate the development of independent and confident learners, promote the school's vision, and work collaboratively with staff and the community to provide high‐quality educational experiences.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach Year 7 and Year 8 Digital Technologies.
* Teach Year 8 Media.
* Teach Year 10 Photography, Film & Television (advantage).
* Develop curriculum aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum for Technologies.
* Promote independent and confident learning among students.
* Integrate real‐world scenarios and industry relevance into teaching.
* Create a safe and accountable learning environment consistent with SHS core values of curiosity, aspiration, respect, and environment.
* Collaborate with school staff and the wider community to support strategic directions.
Qualifications & Experience
* Eligible teacher qualification and registration.
* Australian or New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid visa with work rights for the term of appointment.
* Experience teaching Digital Technologies and related media subjects.
* Strong understanding of instructional and curriculum design aligned with the WA Curriculum for Technologies.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage and motivate students.
Eligibility
* Hold eligible teacher qualification and registration.
* Be Australian/New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with work rights.
* Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before starting.
* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number before starting.
