The Opportunity
Icon Water is progressing through a significant digital and data transformation, making this a highly impactful time to join.
This is a senior architectural position in a technically mature architecture function. You'll operate with autonomy, influence strategic decisions, and play a pivotal role in the secure evolution of IT and OT environments. This is an opportunity to drive security uplift across enterprise systems, cloud platforms, operational technology, and critical infrastructure.
You'll work closely with the Cybersecurity Manager and Enterprise Architect, contributing to the broader architectural direction while owning the cybersecurity architecture domain.

The Role
Reporting to the Enterprise Architect, key responsibilities include:
* Define and govern the enterprise network architecture
* Design secure, high-performance networking across IT and OT
* Lead network uplift in cloud (Azure), SCADA/OT, and on-prem domains
* Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Cloud teams
* Represent the architecture function in governance forums
* Mentor engineering teams and influence best practices
* Evaluate and recommend modern network technologies (SDN, SASE, ZTNA)
* Ensure compliance with security standards (ISM, NIST)
* Produce clear network documentation, patterns, and roadmaps
The Ideal Person
You have built a strong career from the ground up, transitioning from hands-on network engineering into architectural leadership. In addition:
* You are confident operating independently, engaging senior stakeholders, and driving strategic change.
* You bring deep experience across cloud (particularly Azure), hybrid networking, and designing solutions that support both enterprise IT and operational systems.
* You will have 7+ years' experience in enterprise network architecture and operations, with strong capability across data centres, LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, cloud, wireless, and VPN technologies.
* You also bring a strong understanding of security-aligned design principles (ISM, NIST, network segmentation).
* You will have experience with platforms such as Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Azure, with exposure to cloud connectivity solutions (e.g. ExpressRoute, AWS Direct Connect).
* Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, NSE, or Azure/AWS networking certifications will be highly regarded.
* You will also bring excellent communication and documentation skills, with the confidence to influence, lead, and engage cross-functionally.
Salary / Rate
The salary band starts at $174, % Super. Flexible depending on experience.
