We put FUN in disability support with a team of over 1,000 support workers nationally, and utilise professional and semi-professional athletes as our support workers.
This role is a full-time and permanent position. The successful candidate will be joining a passionate team, dedicated to helping people and creating unforgettable camp experiences for participants.
About this role:
We are on the hunt for a full-time WA Camp Manager. The State Camp Manager at What Ability is responsible for the operational coordination and delivery of camp experiences within their designated state. This role manages Camp Captains, participant outreach, and all logistics related to planning, executing, and reviewing camps. The State Camp Manager ensures compliance with national standards (NDIS Practice Standards and Child Safe Standards), organisational policies, and the highest levels of participant safety and satisfaction.

Role responsibilities include:
Camp Coordination and Oversight
Coordinate the allocation and supervision of Camp Captains and support staff.
Oversee camp budgets and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
Book and confirm accommodations and transport logistics for each camp.
Participant Engagement and Communication
Manage outreach to new and existing participants to promote upcoming camps.
Monitor and respond to all state-based inquiries relating to camps and camp availability.
Ensure participant bookings are finalised at least one month in advance.
Communicate all relevant camp information to participants' parents and guardians.
Supportmate, Documentation and Task Management
Oversee camp bookings and update participant needs and requirements in Supportmate.
Ensure participant Support Plans are followed and all relevant documentation is current.
Ensure all required staff documentation is up to date and current.
Monitor and coordinate task management tools (JIRA) and ensure they are kept up to date.
Compliance and Reporting
Review and oversee the submission of camp progress notes, staff timesheets, and approve medication charts.
Ensure all mandatory forms are completed and financial reporting is accurate and up to date.
Assist staff with incident management during camp and oversee incident reporting, escalating issues to the National Camp Manager, as required.
Manage and action camp related complaints and feedback for all staff and participants.
Complete camp support plan revisions as required and assist with supporting letter requests.
Quality and Safety Assurance
Ensure Camp Captains are implementing Support Plans and conducting daily checks.
Ensure compliance of all camp activities and environments meet internal camp policies, NDIS requirements and National Child Safe Standards.
Ensure risk assessments and mitigating strategies are identified and implemented.
Maintain a high standard of participant care, safety, and wellbeing throughout each camp.
Team Management, Training and Development
Present mandatory camp trainings and inductions
Provide guidance, coaching, and support to FT Camp Captains, Camp Captains and staff involved in camps.
Participate in the recruitment, development and performance management of camp staff in collaboration with the National team.
