The Centre for Armed Violence Reduction (CAVR, armedviolencereduction.org) is an international not-for-profit organisation that develops systems to reduce illicit arms and ammunition use and incidents, especially in fragile situations. CAVR is based in Sydney with personnel and partners across Pacific, African, and Latin American countries. Funded by the UN and global government aid agencies, CAVR's new General Manager will oversee the management of the recently expanded organisation and support future growth.
Role Description
The General Manager will be responsible for:
* Planning, budgeting, income, and expenditure management at both organisational and project levels.
* Overseeing HR systems, payroll, and safety protocols in collaboration with our security partner, the Mines Advisory Group in Papua New Guinea.
* Ensuring compliance with reporting requirements, coordinating audits, and managing reports to charity regulators, taxation authorities, and bookkeeping oversight.
* Managing project reporting and financial acquittals, including delegating writing tasks to relevant staff.
* Leading grant application processes, including assigning writing responsibilities.
Requirements
* Experience in business or operations management within a small organisation or large project.
* Interest in working for a not-for-profit sector.
* Willingness to work at our Head Office located at Macquarie University in Sydney.
