We are seeking an Assistant Surveyor/Surveyor Assistant to join our team. Reporting to the Registered Mining Surveyor, you will expand your knowledge and skills utilising up-to-date survey equipment including Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), Total Station Theodolite, Laser Scanners and the latest processing and modelling software.
About the role
Malabar Resources Ltd operates the Maxwell Underground Mine in the Hunter Valley, targeting high quality metallurgical coal with approvals in place through 2046. In addition to the Maxwell Underground Mine, the group owns the Maxwell Solar Farm, Maxwell Infrastructure site properties, Spur Hill Underground Project, and agricultural properties including the Merton Vineyard.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate survey support and data in accordance with statutory and company standards for the mine’s operation.
- Maintain survey standards in field and office environments.
- Conduct surveys using GNSS, total station theodolites, terrestrial laser scanners and RPAS technology.
- Participate in the daily running of the Survey Office.
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety behaviours in the workplace.
Skills and Experience
- A recent graduate, or in the process of completing, formal surveying qualifications (Diploma, Associate Degree or Degree) through a tertiary institution.
- Willingness to learn how to use various technologies employed in the profession.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management.
- Passion for continuous improvement and technological advancement in mining.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety.
- Dedicated to grow and develop skills and attributes required for a Mine Surveyor.
- The ability to pass an industry medical assessment, prior to commencement, is required.
