Project Overview:
We are responsible for replacing three existing bucketwheel reclaimers at Rio Tinto's Parker Point facility in northwest Australia. Our scope includes designing, procuring, installing and commissioning new bucketwheel reclaimers as well as associated off-board work such as earthworks, marine infrastructure, structural works, and electrical upgrades to support installation and operation of the new reclaimers.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will oversee engineering and construction aspects of site work, providing project field engineering expertise with planning, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination.
* Acting as primary point of contact for coordination and resolution of technical issues related to contractors on site.
* Developing/reviewing work packages in support of the construction schedule.
* Preparing construction drawings and sketches.
* Initiating requisitions for purchases.
* Preparing quantity takeoffs of purchased materials and equipment.
* Verifying installed commodities and inputs in the project tracking system.
* Ensuring implementation and adherence to zero-accident philosophy and tool/equipment safety.
* Developing understanding of systems and area scoping.
* Reviewing/approving inspection test plans.
* Coordinating reviews of subcontractor submittals.
* Verifying installations against relevant standards, specifications, and design drawings.
* Troubleshooting designs and resolving issues using formal documentation processes.
* Leading preparation of construction drawings and temporary facilities design ensuring preparation and review of 'as built' drawings.
* Completing system walk-downs, deficiency tracking, and close-out supporting project turnover.
* Functioning as lead E&I field engineer, coordinating discipline activities and interfacing with other areas/disciplines on site.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
