About the role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Service team as a National Service Specialist (NSS) – Project Management & Team Leader, based in Castle Hill, reporting to the Executive Manager – Service.
The NSS will have team management responsibilities, overseeing Canon Medical's installations, ensuring customer expectations are clearly defined and met, and providing guidance, governance, monitoring, and control.
This leadership role requires high standards of conduct, professionalism, technical competency, and alignment with Canon's values for ongoing success.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the Project Management team.
* Manage installation projects, coordinating with engineers, managers, and account managers.
* Support tender, sales, and application teams in planning and implementation.
* Oversee contractor management, including selection, contracts, KPIs, fees, and scheduling.
* Manage technical liaison with vendors, including Canon Medical Systems Japan.
* Lead strategic planning and management reporting.
* Ensure customer expectations are defined and met throughout all project phases.
* Develop and review procedures, guiding Service Management.
* Stay updated on project management technologies and recommend organizational solutions.
* Drive change management and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Provide on-site and out-of-hours support for engineering and sales teams.
* Team management duties such as coaching, recruitment, performance reviews, dispute resolution, training needs assessment, and exit management.
Our ideal candidate will possess:
Mandatory skills and experience:
* Tertiary qualification as a professional Project Manager.
* 'Certified Practising Project Manager' or equivalent preferred.
* Proficient in AutoCAD.
* Over 7 years of Project Management experience in capital equipment installations or construction management.
* Experience managing Turnkey/Construction Projects.
* Ability to travel intrastate, interstate, and to New Zealand.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
* Commitment to ongoing management and leadership development.
* Desire to enhance Project Management competencies through professional development.
Preferred skills and experience:
* Experience managing complex diagnostic imaging installations, including building works, tenders, liquidated damages, multiple rooms, and stakeholders.
* Over 2 years of Project Management experience in capital medical equipment installations.
* Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
