Day to Day responsibilities
* Sample Preparation: Creating prototypes and samples for new product development (NPD) under the guidance of the food technologist.
* Lab-Scale Trials: Blending, cooking, or formulating ingredients at a small scale to test new ingredients or recipes.
* Calibrating Equipment: Ensuring laboratory instruments (e.g., scales, pH meters) are clean, calibrated, and maintained.
* Documentation: Recording data accurately and preparing lab reports for the food technologist to review.
* Maintaining Lab Hygiene: Ensuring the laboratory and equipment are kept to food-safe hygiene standards.
Skills and Experience
* High attention to detail and ability to follow strict safety protocols.
* Knowledge of basic food technology principles & food analysis techniques is beneficial.
