More change, less static The Note Issue Department is responsible for providing secure and reliable banknotes, so that Australians can have confidence in their banknotes as a means of payment and store of wealth. The Department analyses trends in cash use and the policy implications of consumers switching to digital payment alternatives. It manages the phases of the banknote life-cycle, including design, security, supply, quality and destruction. You will lead and develop employees to achieve organisational goals and deliver organisational outcomes relating to Australia's banknotes. This role provides you with broad exposure to areas of policy development, strategy, collaboration, leadership, and communication both externally and internally. Your strong background in formulating and executing strategy and policy and leading people through periods of change will be critical to the position. In this key critical role, you will: Lead the formulation and implementation of strategies with critical thinking being a key strength, to provide solutions to support the current and future use of Australia's banknotes. Strategically lead stakeholder relationships to effectively meet enterprise outcomes for cash distribution. Anticipate and effectively manage issues and risks, ensuring processes are consistent with the Bank's risk appetite. Motivate, foster and inspire a culture across the Department aligned to the Bank's values, enabling an environment for high levels of staff engagement and performance. Foster an environment which supports ongoing improvements to strategies, systems and processes. Your background: We are seeking a highly motivated and inspiring leader to lead the Note Issue function and its key initiatives and deliverables. Your thought leadership and commitment to serving the public interest, combined with strong stakeholder management skills, resilience, leadership and personable nature will help set you up for success in this key senior Bank leadership role. The successful applicant will have a strong background in the following: Experience in, and a proven aptitude for, strategic thinking, policy and analysis, including experience in analysing complex projects and ensuring appropriate solutions are implemented. Proven ability to be agile, adapting to changing needs whether it be strategic or operational. Proven ability to effectively engage with stakeholders and contribution to forming effective partnerships. Experience managing and motivating teams of staff, including through periods of change. Tertiary qualifications in either Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering or Science are required.
