**About the role**
In this role you will provide education and support to the Agency on a range of work health and safety initiatives. The Work Health and Safety Advisor will also manage, coordinate, and drive the recover at work process for injury management activities on both workers compensation and non-workers compensation Legal Aid NSW health matters. Through quality assurance and case file reviews, the WHS Advisor will ensure health matters are managed in a durable, safe, and best practice manner for all involved.
You will develop and provide effective and targeted injury and claims management and return to work programs to support injured workers to recover at work. The role works closely with managers and in partnership with the insurer to achieve positive outcomes for the business and the injured worker. It is also involved in supporting non compensable return to work and related matters.

**About you**
The successful applicant must show a strong commitment to the Recovery at Work program/process; a genuine interest in working with injured workers to establish favourable outcomes for all parties; knowledge and expertise in creating and maintain safe workplaces.
You'll be a strong communicator, with the ability to have courageous conversations with managers, staff and injured workers to enable and support positive outcomes. Ideally, you'll be customer focused, with the ability to develop strong links with the business and stakeholders, problem solving and suggesting innovative solutions to support WHS in the workplace.
**The essential requirements for this role**
You must:
- have relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in Human Resources
- be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before you start
- be willing to undertake a Criminal Record Check
- hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies)
