The Role

As one of our Senior Local Laws Officers, you will:

Inform and educate the community on issues relating to local laws
Investigate and resolve breaches of local laws and other relevant legislation, including the Domestic Animals Act, Impounding of Livestock Act, and the Environmental Protection Act
Issue compliance orders, official warnings and infringement notices as a result of these investigations
Prepare written reports and documents to a high standard

This a full time temporary backfill position until October 2026. The position is based at Galkangu – Bendigo GovHub, but will travel to locations across the Greater Bendigo region and works Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm.

About You

You will have a customer service focus and:

Excellent communication, negotiation and problem solving skills
Experience in local laws or a similar regulatory environment
Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, relevant Acts and local laws
Strong time management and organisation skills
Enjoy working in a team environment

A satisfactory police check, employee Working with Children Check and current drivers licence are required for this position.
