About the Role
The Accounts Receivable Support Officer supports the department's accounts receivable function by processing invoices, payments, refunds and customer account updates while ensuring financial policies and procedures are followed. The role assists staff with enquiries, supports reporting and reconciliation activities, and helps prepare information for audits and finance reviews. Working closely with internal teams, the position also contributes to process improvements, service standards and compliance activities. Success in the role helps ensure accurate financial records, efficient customer service and the smooth day-to-day operation of the department's finance processes. The role requires a team player who can confidently use Excel to manage large datasets, apply formulas, and work with data accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
* Process accounts receivable transactions accurately and in line with financial procedures and guidelines.
* Manage invoices, payments, refunds and customer account updates.
* Assist staff with enquiries and support reporting, reconciliations and day-to-day financial administration tasks.
* Prepare information for audits and finance reviews.
* Collaborate with internal teams to contribute to process improvements, service standards and compliance activities.
Technical Capabilities
* Experience working with financial systems, processes and data.
* Use finance systems to support reporting, reconciliations and financial administration tasks.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure financial information is reliable and up to date.
* Learn financial policies, delegation processes and standard reporting requirements to support quality outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
Desirable:
* Accounting, Finance or Economics related qualification.
* Prior experience in Accounts Receivable, Payable, Accounting or Finance.
* Experience using Excel to manage large datasets with the ability to use formulas and work with data accurately and efficiently.
