Position Overview

Port Augusta Technical College is a visionary institution that aims to revolutionise technical education in South Australia. The State Government is investing in technical colleges that will set the standard for excellence in their design, learning environment and delivery of skills‐based training for school‐enrolled students.

Co‐located with Port Augusta Secondary School, the college runs a part‐time enrolment model for secondary school students within the region to access training while maintaining their enrolment in their current school. The college has on‐site accommodation and offers four industry training programmes for careers in civil, resources and infrastructure; health and social support; hospitality and tourism; and multi‐trades (e.g. plumbers, builders, electricians, boilermakers).

Responsibilities

* Support the development of professional learning environments by strengthening networks between teachers, trainers, mentors, industry and employer partners within and beyond Port Augusta Technical College to foster dialogue, sharing and constructive feedback to improve educational outcomes for students.
* Lead the implementation of a range of student support strategies including quality career education and guidance, wellbeing for learning and mentoring in the technical college and with employer partners.
* Lead a positive and constructive working environment focused on quality student outcomes.

Qualifications

* Proven ability to establish sound and effective relationships and communication with staff, students, parents and training providers to promote professional dialogue and a collaborative working culture resulting in improved educational outcomes for students.
* Proven ability to lead and design and deliver high‐quality teaching approaches that foster student engagement and support learner growth.
* Experience in leading flexible industry pathway curriculum and educational reform including processes to engage community and industry stakeholders to establish pathways for students.

Classification: LDRB2 – Leader Band B‐2
Conditions: $136,872 per annum FTE / Teacher Conditions
