Revolution Design is the design partner behind Incat Tasmania's world-leading aluminium shipbuilding program. For more than two decades, our specialist team of naval architects, engineers and designers has worked alongside Incat to develop fast, efficient, and future-ready vessels. From concept through to delivery, we create advanced lightweight ferries that maximise performance, energy efficiency, and reliability – shaping the next generation of sustainable maritime transport and enabling Incat to deliver the world's most advanced electric shipbuilding program.
Position Summary
In the systems team, you'll take on CAD modelling, drafting, and technical support for some of the world's most advanced battery-electric ferry designs. You'll work across a broad range of mechanical systems—from hydraulics (such as cooling, fire suppression, fresh water, grey water, and sullage) to HVAC—converting engineering markups into detailed construction drawings and documentation that ensure all vessel services are seamlessly integrated. As part of a small team, you'll also gain hands-on exposure to other disciplines as a regular part of your role.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare technical drawings and documents as required.
* Ensure all required inputs and outputs are understood prior to undertaking a set task.
* Ensure it complies with statutory and regulatory specifications and all other relevant project specific requirements.
* Conduct peer review of drawings and documents.
* Support the development, implementation and review of design processes and procedures to improve the efficiency and quality of service delivery.
* Establish good working relationships with shipyard personnel.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD (required).
* Proficient in AutoCAD, Rhino, ShipConstructor or BIM (desirable).
* Strong technical background in a relevant discipline.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Demonstrated ability to build relationships with trades, design engineers, management, suppliers, etc.
* Coordinate with relevant stakeholders during the design process to ensure a cohesive design with other systems in the space.
