About the Role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support to projects during various activities.
You will develop and implement technical solutions to engineering challenges to ensure optimal performance of assets.

* Technical instructions
* Technical risk assessments and analyses
* Problem resolution procedures
* Engineering change proposals
* General engineering advice
You will need to ensure designs comply with relevant regulatory authorities, specifications, and customer requirements.
You'll also manage and review design inputs from third parties, including drawings, certifications, and manuals.
Select and prepare requisitions for electrical components and associated devices.
Prepare detailed designs and drawings, including calculations, schematics, and supporting data.
Design systems such as power generation and distribution, control, lighting and power arrangements, automation, shutdown, navigation, and communication systems.
Provide design support during production, commissioning, and delivery phases.
You will require a degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, recognised by Engineers Australia for Professional Engineer (Member) registration.
Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain a security clearance are also required.
In addition, you should have well-developed written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard engineering software, and strong understanding of power generation and distribution systems.
Solid competency in electrical engineering calculations and AutoCAD skills are essential.
Finally, you will need more than 3 years of relevant industry experience, preferably working within Defence or Defence-related environments.
