Forklift Operator - Somersby
About The Role
As part of the CSR Group, Hebel is a leading manufacturer of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) panels and blocks. We are looking for a reliable, hands‐on forklift operator to support the safe movement of stock and the day‐to‐day dispatch operations on our Somersby site.
Shift Pattern
* Week 1: 4:00 am – 12:00 pm
* Week 2: 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Responsibilities
* Loading and unloading trucks safely and efficiently
* Unloading shipping containers and checking for damage
* Putting stock away accurately using SAP/WMS systems
* Picking and assembling customer orders
* Operating forklifts and other mobile equipment safely
* Supporting daily load planning and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) compliance
* Completing scanning, load closing, and dispatch documentation
* Assisting with inventory tasks including cycle counts and stock adjustments
* Contributing to safety initiatives and risk reduction activities
* Communicating clearly with team members, drivers, and internal stakeholders
* Identifying and supporting continuous improvement opportunities
Qualifications
* A current forklift licence (high‐reach experience is preferred, not essential)
* Previous experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or dispatch environments
* A strong safety mindset and understanding of WHSE practices
* A hands‐on approach – not afraid to get stuck in
* Good attention to detail, particularly with stock handling and systems
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* A team‐first attitude with a practical, no‐nonsense work ethic
* Willingness to learn and pick up new systems and processes
