The Opportunity
At Victory Minerals (VM), we are committed to sustainable mineral extraction, ensuring long-term value for our stakeholders and the communities in which we operate.
This commitment is demonstrated by several high value capital projects such as: The installation of a Ball mill into the processing stream, a tails dam lift of the existing tails dam with the commitment for construction of a second larger dam, continuous diamond drilling with positive results and a lifting of production rates across all departments. This increase in production comes with a strong focus on safety, innovation and operational excellence.
The TSF section of the mine is the second most costly area of the operation, including construction and as such we are seeking a Senior Earth Moving Professional with experience in dam construction and contractor management to lead our TSF department.
The Role
The TSF Project Manager is primarily responsible for managing operations within the TSF team to ensure a safe, timely and cost-effective outcome. The scope includes (but is not limited to) other major capital and maintenance projects associated with the TSF, including construction activities, as well as managing the General Site Services contractor.
Key responsibilities will include:
· Immediate construction of TSF4 with a construction volume circa 700K BCM plus excavation volume.
· Manage the VM TSF team to prioritise designs, quotes and activities to site needs.
· Ensuring multiple contractors are managed on a day-to-day basis as well as managed between projects to prevent overlap.
· Scoping of projects, providing cost estimates and options
· Managing tendering processes to allow justifiable decisions
· Controlling costs against project budgets and timelines.
· Verifying consultant outputs for clarity and adherence to scope but also challenge recommendations for veracity.
· Working closely with the project initiator to deliver the best possible result at the lowest working cost with an accurate timeframe.
· Be responsible for and manage all contractors working on projects under your control and manage all activities around TSF facilities.
· Reporting to Management including safety, general project progress, costings, outcomes
· Coordinate work within the processing and mining on-site requirements
· Liaise with and comply with all regulatory authorities and requirements
· Ensure hazards and incidents are dealt with promptly by staff and contractors
The Person
As the successful applicant you will have:
· 10+ years previous experience as a senior professional managing projects in a civil or dam construction industry
· Experience in managing multiple contractors with multiple scoped activities.
· Experience with inspectors, government departments and regulators
· Experience in managing consultants, reviewing recommendations with a preparedness to challenge recommendations for veracity.
· Experience with projects with high environmental expectations.
· Experience with managing direct reports, engineers and general staff.
· Strong commitment to safety
· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project)
· Australian Driver's Licence required
· Ability to understand and interrogate .DWG files is highly desirable
