* working a 35-hour week on average, with compensation for extra hours put in during busy times of the year.
The Audit Office is committed to supporting flexible working arrangements where you can find real work-life balance. Our standard way of working requires you to work at least 50% of contracted hours from either our head office, an auditee location, or a related worksite. If required, you can balance your attendance on-site over a month, with a minimum of one day per week in one of these locations.
Who we’re looking for:
* Financial audit graduates: We are seeking financial audit graduates with accounting degrees recognised by CAANZ, CPA Australia or IPA. We care about academic results but equally important is an inquiring mind, an adaptive mindset, leadership qualities and motivation.
* Other Graduates: We are also seeking other graduates who have completed (or completing) any tertiary qualification within the last 3 years in business, social sciences, legal, economics, environment, policy, data, AI, health-related, or other relevant fields
In this role you’ll need integrity, maturity, resilience, tenacity, well-developed oral and written communication skills, the ability to work successfully in a team environment, and a keen interest in auditing and the public sector.
To apply for our graduate program, you'll need to have:
* completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the past three years (2024, 2025 or 2026) or be due to complete it before 1 February 2027
* (for financial audit graduates only) completed or be completing a degree that meets the entry requirements for you to commence your studies with CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, or the Institute of Public Accountants program
* Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Australian permanent residency (at the time of application).
