Let’s talk about the roles and responsibilities
As a Data Engineer, you are responsible for designing and implementing scalable data pipelines using Databricks, Apache Spark, and Azure Data Factory. You will ensure seamless data integration, transformation, and optimization across various systems. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring high-quality data governance, compliance, and reporting solutions, and troubleshooting to maintain performance in the Financial Services domain.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines using Databricks and Apache Spark
* Develop and manage data workflows using Azure Data Factory, ensuring efficient data movement and transformation across systems
* Extract, transform, and load data from sources like Oracle SQL Server 2014, flat files, and APIs
* Develop ETL packages using SSIS and create visualizations and reports with SSRS
* Collaborate with stakeholders to gather data requirements
* Optimize data processing for performance, scalability, and reliability
* Ensure documentation, data governance, and compliance with industry standards
* Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues
* Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in the data engineering team
Mandatory Skills & Technologies:
* Hands-on experience with Databricks
* Proficiency in Apache Spark for distributed processing
* Experience with Azure Data Factory for orchestration and automation
* Knowledge of Oracle SQL Server 2014 (queries, tuning, procedures)
* Experience building and maintaining SSIS packages
* Experience using SSRS for reports and dashboards
Preferred Skills:
* Knowledge of Cosmos DB (NoSQL)
* Experience in Financial Services, Banking, or Insurance data ecosystems
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools like Git
* Understanding of data security practices and standards like GDPR, SOC2
