Skills and Experience needed:
* You are an experienced disputes/litigation lawyer
* You have the ability to advise business and key stakeholders in relation to investigations, reviews, enquiries and litigation on regulatory investigation matters
* You are experienced in managing complex investigations and inquiries lead by bodies such as ASIC, ACCC and APRA
* You have the ability to proactively review high-risk areas to assess exposure from industry and regulatory developments
* You have the ability to work closely with legal and regulatory teams to advise business stakeholders on regulatory risks and emerging issues
* You have the ability to identify and monitor legal risks related to disputes and litigation, escalating issues as needed
* You are solutions focussed with excellent professional and commercial judgement, decision making and problem solving skills
* You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
* You have superior drafting ability, technical and client management skills
* You have a commercial approach and the ability to articulate and negotiate effectively
* You have strong attention to detail with well-developed analytical, communication and research skills
* You have the ability to be team-focused whilst also working independently
* You have a proactive, positive and energetic approach with a commitment to providing excellent service and a desire to interact with the market and build client relationships
* You have the ability to work under pressure, have the ability to persuade, think creatively and are committed to excellent client service
* You are commercially astute and have a strong eye for detail
* You have the ability to hit the ground running and work closely with a fast paced team
* You have the ability to deal with changing priorities and deadlines, work autonomously and prioritise
* You have a minimum of 5 years' experience
* You have the ability to understand and adapt to the needs of the business
* You have a current practising certificate
* You have the right to live and work in Australia
As well as excellent legal experience you will need:
* The right to live and work in Australia (and be based here) and hold or be able to obtain a current practising certificate
* Willingness to engage with Ashurst via an Incorporated Legal Practice or casual employment
