An exciting opportunity exists for highly motivated Health Information Services Officers to join our Medical Records team at Newcastle Private Hospital on a Casual basis.
As a Health Information Services Officer, your responsibilities will include:
* Medical record preparation and retrieval within strict deadlines
* Provision of health information to internal and external clients
* Answering phone call enquiries for patient information
* Filing and preparation of medical records and loose sheets
* Day-to-day functionality of the Health Information Service Department
* Participating in performance improvement activities
* Culling of medical records
* Scanning/photocopying information for various requirements
* Assist with medical record forms stock management & distribution
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Ability to work autonomously and as a team member in a small team environment
* Ability to plan and work within deadlines
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office and general computer literacy
* Prior experience in a hospital or medical administration role
* Previous experience within a medical records environment or dealing with confidential records
* Experience with the WebPAS patient information system
* Knowledge of basic medical terminology
