The Role:

We’re seeking two Financial Accountants to join a high‑performing national finance team within a professional services environment, based in either Sydney or Melbourne. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced accountants who thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative setting and are keen to gain exposure across a broad range of financial and compliance activities.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the day‑to‑day financial operations of the business, working closely with senior finance leaders and stakeholders across the firm. You’ll gain hands‑on experience across management accounting, statutory compliance, reporting, and process improvement, while also having the opportunity to mentor junior team members and contribute to the ongoing growth and capability of the finance function.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant will support the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting, while contributing to continuous improvement across finance processes.
* Preparing month‑end journals and rollovers, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and revenue
* Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and commentary
* Preparing and managing balance sheet reconciliations
* Supporting BAS, FBT, and other tax compliance processes
* Maintaining the fixed asset register and chart of accounts
* Assisting with year‑end processes, audits, and work papers
* Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow reporting
* Completing statutory and external reporting requirements
* Mentoring and supporting junior finance team members as required
About you:
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring a strong technical accounting foundation, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work confidently with a range of stakeholders.
You will ideally have:
* CA or CPA qualification (or currently working towards)
* Minimum 3 years’ relevant post‑qualification experience within a professional services or similar environment
* Strong understanding of tax compliance and financial reporting requirements
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex reconciliations
* Advanced Excel skills, including working with large datasets and complex formulas
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
* A collaborative approach and a willingness to support and mentor other
