Love working outdoors and being part of your local community? We're on the lookout for a Meter Reader to join our Mount Isa team! In this role, you'll enjoy flexible outdoor work—walking and driving through your allocated neighbourhoods while recording utility meter readings.
Hours : 7am–3pm or 8am–4pm, Monday to Friday
Location : Mount Isa and surrounding areas
No experience? No worries—we'll provide full training to set you up for success. All you need is a positive attitude, a good level of fitness, and a willingness to work independently in the fresh air.
What you need
* Current valid drivers licence
* White Card (Construction Induction Card) required or willingness to obtain
* Mobile phone
* Ready to learn and able to work on your own
* Able to undertake plenty of walking, bending and squatting
* Able to work in most weather conditions
* Able to work Mon - Fri, 5 days per week, 30 – 37.5 hours per week
* Flexible and comfortable with daily travel of up to, or more than 45 minutes each way
* Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and good attention to detail is required
* Live in Mount Isa or within ~30 minutes travel, or be willing to commute
Key Responsibilities
* Accurately read allocated meter routes in a timely, efficient and safe manner
* Uphold the Service Stream safety standards and publicly represent Service Stream and our clients in a professional manner
* Understand and ensure targets are met
* Ability to work independently but also work with other members of the team
* Regularly communicate with office support team
* Upload/download route information to/from hand-held device
* Travel to Cloncurry required 4 days per month for meter reading duties
* Local area knowledge is desirable and will be highly regarded
* Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively liaise with your support team
* Work smart and safe: assess risks, follow safety practices, and finish the job injury-free
