The Medicare Mental Health Centre provides a free, safe and welcoming space to access mental health advice, supports and services. Walk-ins are welcomed, services are confidential, and no appointment or referral is required.

We offer a combination of peer-led recovery and clinical support tailored to the needs of the community in regional NSW.

Job Overview

We are seeking a Provisional Psychologist to deliver high quality evidence-based clinical care as a member of the multidisciplinary team to achieve better health outcomes for adults aged 18 years and over who experience mental health concerns and their families and carers.

Responsibilities include conducting intake and assessments, including risk assessments, care treatment planning, care coordination with internal & external services, and providing brief psychological intervention.


Requirements

To be successful in this role you will need:

* Full AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Nurse, General or Provisional AHPRA registration as a Psychologist OR AASW registration/eligibility as a Social Worker
* Knowledge & understanding of the theory underpinning evidence-based interventions & clinical practice as well as demonstrated excellence in the practical application of such, in the areas of mental health and alcohol and drug use
* Highly developed communication (including written) and interpersonal skills
* The ability to engage with people, advocate on their behalf and establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, clients, families & friends and stakeholders
* Experience in the use of electronic client/customer management systems, ability to use a desktop computer, and experience with Microsoft Office applications
* Eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC
* NDIS worker screening clearance
