Workshop Manager Position Summary
This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a heavy vehicle workshop. The successful candidate will have experience in managing teams, coordinating training and staff rotas, and maintaining high standards of vehicle maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage team members to achieve productivity and performance goals
2. Coordinate staff training and development programmes
3. Manage underperformance and disciplinary matters in conjunction with HR
4. Maintain accurate financial records and administrative functions
5. Conduct regular quality checks and routine vehicle services
6. Provide technical support to senior management and other team members
Requirements and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
* A certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification
* NSW Trade Licence
* Demonstrated diagnostic ability and skillset to complete required repairs
* Self-motivation and a solutions-focused approach
* Minimum Class C Licence (or willingness to obtain HR Licence)
* Previous management experience in the heavy vehicle industry (diesel sector experience an advantage)
