Overview
Marsh is seeking a Construction Claims Advocate to join its Claims Advocacy team based in the Sydney office. This hybrid role requires working at least three days a week in the office.
Reporting directly to the Head of Construction Claims Solutions, Pacific Region, you will provide clients with proactive and strategic advice on navigating their claims process with insurers.
Responsibilities
* Provide coverage and claims strategy advice to clients on claims with major coverage issues to assist with claims preparation.
* Identify appropriate policies and/or coverages on less complex coverage issues and analyse notifications against the same to provide solutions to clients against future risks.
* Facilitate the claims process (with less complexity) for clients, with supervision to ensure progress from notification through to closure.
* Monitor insurer responses and engage with insurers and their advisers on less complex issues to support smooth review of claims for clients.
* Draft communications for clients, such as letters, claims calculations and review documents to support the less complex claims process.
* Provide claims-related data (loss statistics, key trends, cost reduction opportunities) to help develop action plans to manage the client's total cost of risk.
* Collaborate with Claims Advocacy colleagues and Claims Operations to support a smooth claims process.
Qualifications
* Extensive experience across construction insurance policies/claims including contract works, industrial special risk, and liability claims.
* Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
* Strong technical knowledge of construction claims.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to proactively develop relationships and manage stakeholders with a clear customer focus.
* Calm under pressure with the confidence to discuss complex issues with senior leaders and to lead meetings.
