We’re looking for a Senior AI Engineer who has lived the reality of taking AI from concept to production — and keeping it there. This role is designed for senior engineers who thrive on delivery, ownership, and real‑world complexity. If your experience is primarily academic, experimental, or limited to proofs‑of‑concept, this role is unlikely to be the right fit. You’ll be a hands‑on technical leader — someone trusted to set direction, mentor others, and still dive deep into code, architecture, and problem‑solving when it matters most. Your work will power AI solutions used by millions of customers, where reliability, security, and responsible AI are non‑negotiable. Your role and responsibilities … You’ll operate at the intersection of cutting‑edge AI engineering and enterprise‑grade execution, leading by example and delivering systems that perform in the real world. Design, build, deploy, and operate production‑grade ML and GenAI systems that solve complex, high‑impact business problems. Own AI solutions end‑to‑end — from data pipelines and model development through to deployment, monitoring, performance optimisation, and lifecycle management. Engineer agentic and GenAI solutions using frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, DSPy, with a strong bias toward robustness, testability, and maintainability. Build and maintain industrial‑strength CI/CD and MLOps pipelines, using tools like Jenkins, GitHub, and Bamboo, designed for regulated, high‑availability environments. Work deeply with big data platforms (e.g. Hadoop, Spark) to enable scalable feature engineering, training, and inference. Deliver solutions across Azure ML, Azure AI Services, and Synapse, with clear attention to security, cost, resilience, and operational excellence. Partner closely with data scientists, software engineers, product leaders, risk and governance teams to translate ideas into trusted AI products — not slideware. Contribute across the stack when needed, including backend (Node.js), frontend (React), and emerging patterns such as graph‑based AI systems. Set practical standards for responsible AI, embedding ethics, explainability, and governance into production workflows — not bolted on after the fact. Coach and uplift others through clear technical leadership and collaboration, not command‑and‑control. What you bring We’re deliberately looking for depth of experience over breadth of experimentation. Substantial hands‑on experience engineering AI/ML systems in production, ideally within large, complex, or regulated corporate environments. Expert‑level Python, with strong real‑world usage of PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit‑learn, and modern ML tooling. Demonstrated experience taking AI beyond PoCs — including real-time troubleshooting, deployment, monitoring, drift detection, retraining strategies, and operational support. A proven ability to discuss architecture, failure modes, and organisational impact — not just code. Strong MLOps and platform engineering capability, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and automation (e.g. Terraform, Chef ). Practical experience delivering AI on cloud platforms, particularly Azure (AWS also valued). Working knowledge of bash, PowerShell, and modern engineering practices. The ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences, adjusting style and depth as needed. A mindset of ownership, pragmatism, and accountability — you care as much about outcomes as innovation. Able to demonstrate experience in ownership of end-to-end systems, trade-off reasoning, technical leadership/mentoring. A strong personal commitment to ethical, inclusive, and responsible AI.
