About The Role
Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation's most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.
In this role, you will provide supervision and be responsible for the commissioning, calibration, service, repair, safety and performance testing and installation of biomedical equipment within SLHD. You will be performing daily servicing, troubleshooting, diagnosing & repairs of biomedical equipment, performing preventive maintenance routines and testing to AS3551. Maintain all service records and enter test/service results into database. Able to participate in afterhours on-call roster.
The BME electronics technician will be involved in preventative maintenance and repairs of clinical devices within SLHD (onsite/offsite). You will be working as a team member within RPAH Biomedical Engineering.

Ideal Candidate
* Possess an Associate Diploma or higher in Biomedical/Info-System/Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution and acceptable for associate membership or higher of the Institute of Engineers Australia.
* Demonstrate good communication, interpersonal skills and proven computer literacy and ability to maintain a computer database.
* Knowledge of Australian Standards and practical experience in the implementation of AS3551 for purposes of equipment testing and verifications in conjunction with other relevant medical standards.
* Possess experience in repair and maintenance of clinical/renal dialysis/radiation oncology equipment.
* Current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable) or subject to obtaining NSW Driver's Licence within 3 months of appointment.
