Role Overview:
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing complex network architectures to support the success of our organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, document business and technical needs, and develop solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and implement network solutions aligned with organizational requirements and technology strategy.
* Facilitate stakeholder meetings to gather, clarify, and document business and technical requirements.
* Develop and implement capability and capacity planning strategies into network architecture.
* Implement cyber security measures into network designs, validate the effectiveness of the proposed network architecture against these security requirements.
* Evaluate and analyze technology options, defining selection criteria and documenting assessments.
* Contribute to the design, creation, implementation, and maintenance of network security solutions including firewalls, load balances, virtual appliances, VPNs, as well as cloud-native routing and switching technologies.
* Contribute to the design, creation, installation, and configuration of physical hardware and virtual devices including network routers, switches, and compute servers.
* Set-up and configure Software Defined Networking solutions.
* Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and System Architects to guide hardware requirements.
* Develop security by design principles into the Network Architecture.
* Develop key AIR6500 technical documents and artefacts such as network solution description, trade studies, and definition of requirements.
Requirements:
* Experience with software-defined networking.
* Proficiency in network management systems.
* Knowledge in Voice, Mobile, Data, and Satellite connectivity.
* Expertise in designing and implementing complex network architectures.
* Proficiency in Python, Unix/Linux programming languages.
* Understanding of routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
* Relevant qualifications, experience, or certifications (e.g. CCNP/CCIE).
* Awareness of Security frameworks, governance, and compliance (e.g. ISM, DSPF, and PSPF).
* Excellent analysis skills with an ability to develop and evaluate alternatives to determine best value based on customer-provided performance weighting.
* Excellent verbal communication skills including both speaking and listening to customers.
