Position overview
The Australian National University, one of the World's leading research universities, has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, customer service focused finance professional to work within the University's Finance and Business Services Division (F & B & S). F & B & S supports the University's strategic and operational goals through the provision of professional corporate financial management and administration, reporting and effective business services.
The Financial Accountant - Research is a member of the Corporate Finance & Reporting team within F & B & S.
This position is responsible for the delivery of compliant, accurate, and timely financial reporting for funding received by the University, ensuring alignment with external funder's requirements and accounting standards. It manages team members, works closely with finance and research management teams, provides strategic financial advice, recommends sound business solutions to management, and drives process improvements to enhance reporting quality and efficiency.
The ideal candidate will hold relevant tertiary qualifications with CA or CPA membership and experience in research financial reporting and management within a tertiary environment or similar. They will demonstrate good strategic advisory capability, advanced financial reporting and analytical skills, excellent communication, strong stakeholder engagement skill is essential, along with proficiency in financial systems and a commitment to equity, safety and high quality service delivery.
