Project Engineer Position
The role of Project Engineer is a key position within our organization, responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of project works. This includes ensuring time, cost, quality, safety, and contractual targets are met.
Key responsibilities include managing and implementing project works, developing and applying procedures to guarantee quality, safety, timely delivery, and budget compliance.
* Lead program communication among internal parties
* Track off-site procurement items against the program
* Develop a "One Team" culture to promote cooperation and integration among site teams and wider project teams
* Coordinate Graduate and Site Engineers, clarifying expectations and providing regular feedback to ensure performance
* Lead professional development of Graduate and Site Engineers by identifying and addressing capability needs
* Maintain positive relationships with clients and external stakeholders, in line with the project code of ethics
* Comply with WHS policies and procedures
* Apply and communicate the MAP safety program, ensuring its implementation on-site
* Verify MAE mandatory controls daily for early identification of non-compliance
* Conduct weekly project assurance of MAE hazards
* Promote a positive safety culture across the project
* Implement, monitor, and document SWMSs and procedures across multiple work areas
* Ensure employees and subcontractors are appropriately trained and skilled, including SWMSs and procedures
* Participate in daily hazard inspections, rectifying or reporting issues as required
Additionally, the successful candidate must possess:
* A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer in tunnels/underground/heavy civil construction projects or similar
* Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
* A positive attitude and ability to take initiative
* Initiative and creative problem-solving skills
* Self-motivation and results-oriented approach
* Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
* Ability to manage multiple issues and deliver productive outcomes
* Skilled at prioritizing tasks under pressure to meet deadlines and targets

* Ability to work effectively and positively in demanding environments
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
