About the Position
We are currently seeking a highly experienced Financial Accountant to manage and oversee the monthly finances for the New Zealand accounts of a large transport company in Port Botany. The ideal candidate will be a self‐starter who can support all aspects of reporting, month‐end processing, reconciliations, cash flow, balance sheets and budgeting for the NZ accounts.
Key Responsibilities
* Month‐end journals and review and analysis of monthly results.
* Balance sheet reconciliation management.
* Assist the Financial Controller in managing day‐to‐day financial performance.
* Weekly labour reporting.
* Analyse and reconcile bank statements and general ledgers.
* Account for balance sheet items as part of the month‐end process.
* Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
* Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
* Record intercompany transactions.
* Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
* Other duties as described by the Manager.
* ABS surveys.
* Prepare Monthly BAS and Quarterly BAS.
Skills and Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce or Business.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* High attention to detail.
* Logical and analytical thinker.
* Self‐starter capable of networking, accomplishing tasks and delivering results.
* Demonstrated experience implementing process and system improvements in a similar environment.
Compensation & Benefits
* $90,000 per annum plus super.
* Monday to Friday 8:00 am–4:30 pm.
* One day work‐from‐home option after training period.
* Port Botany location.
* January 2026 start – or sooner if possible.
