Lake Joondalup Baptist College seeks to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic English educator who believes all students can be successful. The successful candidate will have the qualifications and personal qualities needed to welcome, inspire and teach students effectively and competently as they implement the Australian Curriculum.
This is a full time position commencing in January 2026.
Essential Selection Criteria
The successful applicant must have the capacity to build effective relationships with students, staff and parents to enhance student wellbeing and outcomes. Essential criteria for this role include:
* A practicing Christian and active member of a church, with a commitment to modelling Christian values within the school community;
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build positive relationships, engage the wider community, and work effectively within a team;
* Demonstrate the ability to teach English to Secondary students, with expertise in Senior Secondary (Years English, ensuring a strong understanding of curriculum requirements and student outcomes.
* The ability to teach Senior Secondary Literature is highly desirable, with a focus on developing critical thinking, analysis, and appreciation for various literary genres.
* Work collaboratively as part of the English Teaching Team, contributing to the development of innovative teaching strategies and promoting excellence in student learning and achievement.
* Fulfil teaching responsibilities as specified by the Head of English Learning Area and the Associate Principal Head of Secondary, including lesson preparation, student assessment, and classroom management.
* Collaborate closely with the Learning Diversity Team to provide in-class support for students with diverse learning needs, promoting inclusive teaching practices and ensuring appropriate support and adjustments are in place for all learners.
