Job Role: Building Facilities Manager
About Your Role
This role is responsible for the effective delivery of facility management services to UNSW's assets under external service contracts. The successful applicant will provide high-level specialist advice to the Building Management and Maintenance team on matters regarding building performance, technical service installations and building services maintenance.
This position works closely with Associate Dean Rural and Manager, Rural Clinical Campuses. The portfolio for this position is regionally based.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the building management and maintenance for assigned assets to ensure priorities are met in accordance with agreed management programs and budgets.
* Capture and asset tag all building assets to maintain them to meet highest standards.
* Develop and implement processes to enhance FM operations across hard and soft services.
* Provide quality reports on the effectiveness of EM external service delivery in accordance with established Service Level Agreements.
* Make strategic recommendations to the Precinct Facilities Manager on EM processes, procedures and policy that impact on business delivery.
* Develop minor refurbishment works annual program for assigned assets to meet priorities and performance objectives.
* Take a leading role in implementing complex building projects and minor refurbishment works with key stakeholders.
* Manage external service provider contracts and deliver services in line with contractual requirements.
* Provide leadership support and management advice to the Precinct Facilities Manager.
* Lead the Building Management and Maintenance team to develop an annual facilities management performance and improvement plan.
* Support and deputise for the Precinct Facilities Manager as needed.
About You
* Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in facilities management with 7 years' experience in building management and FM service delivery.
* Extensive experience in contract and contractor management, service procurement and professional working relationships.
* Operational and facilities management experience with building services and infrastructure in large and complex property portfolios.
* Building services project management, financial management, budget setting and performance tracking experience.
* Leadership qualities, interpersonal, organisational and communication skills with a strong understanding of FM as a value-added service.
* Negotiation and problem-solving skills with a proven capacity to exercise initiative and develop solutions.
* Working knowledge of relevant building standards, including NSW Codes of Practice and Australian Standards.
* Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, MS Project and computer applications applicable to facilities and building management environments.
