Want to take ownership of how academic resources look and feel at one of Australia's fastest-growing education companies? To ensure that thousands of students experience clear, consistent, and professional learning materials every day? To work with a global team that values precision, quality, and structure as much as the knowledge itself?
At Contour, we are looking for a detail-oriented Word Formatting & Editing Executive who thrives on structure, clarity, and presentation. So far, our content teams have focused on creating world-class academic resources. Now we need someone to bring those resources to life through formatting, accuracy, and consistency, making them ready for students.
This role is for someone who wants to roll up their sleeves, apply formatting standards, handle technical details like equations, and own the final presentation of our educational resources. You will not only format documents, you will shape how learners experience our content.
Who We Are
Contour Education is reshaping what great education looks like at scale. Founded in 2020, we have grown from a handful of students to 8,000+ students and 320+ team members in just a few years, and we are only getting started.
We provide an ecosystem of support: weekly small-group tutoring sessions at our campuses, 1:1 personal support, and a comprehensive online learning portal packed with resources, practice material, and workshops. Our students consistently achieve exceptional results in school assessments, selective entry exams, and university preparation.
Behind the scenes, we run on lean operations, AI-driven automation, and modern tech systems. That is how we have been able to scale so quickly while maintaining a premium learning experience for every student.
We have been recognized three years in a row as one of the Australian Financial Review's Fastest Growing Startups, but growth is not our endgame. Our vision is bigger: to build the most effective education platform in Australia, combining human teaching with technology, and to empower every student to achieve their potential.
What You'll Do
This is not a simple editing or typing role. You will be the final touchpoint of quality before content reaches students. That means:
* Format educational resources in physics, chemistry, and mathematics using Microsoft Word, applying predefined templates for clarity, consistency, and professional structure.
* Collaborate closely with the Head of Resources and content teams to align with guidelines and ensure high-quality output.
* Use OCR tools to transcribe text from images and format it according to Contour's style standards.
* Accurately format complex equations in mathematics and chemistry, using Word features like subscript, superscript, and MathType to ensure precision.
* Proofread documents for grammar, formatting errors, and layout consistency before publication.
* Suggest improvements to formatting processes and contribute to building scalable workflows for document preparation.
Why Join Us?
Because you want to ensure content is not just accurate, it looks and feels professional too. At Contour, you are not just a formatter fixing errors. You are the person who makes sure our academic resources meet a standard of quality that thousands of students rely on.
We are not a risky startup with no traction, but we are not a slow-moving corporation either. We sit in that rare middle ground: fast growth, stable model, and an ambitious roadmap. You can make a visible impact here quickly.
You will own formatting standards, shape how students experience educational resources, and ensure that every detail, down to the last equation, is polished and ready.
This is a remote position.
