About The Role
There are many reasons to choose to work with Health Services in the primary care setting including flexible hours, autonomy in decision making, broad scope of practice, nurse-led clinics, and the ability to up-skill and fast-track your nursing career.
Working in prison primary health care delivery provides nurses the opportunity to work with diverse patient groups using varied skills sets. Every day is different. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for providing clinical leadership, critical thinking and direct care to patients throughout the patient journey in a custodial setting.
You will manage the delivery of nursing care using well developed skills to manage patients with routine, urgent and chronic disease health conditions, health promotion and education, preventative health and immunization, emergency response and medication management.
Eligibility
* A current registration in the category of Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
* Demonstrated skills and experience in a senior level clinical nursing practice.
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, hold Australian permanent residency or have a valid working visa for Australia.
Permanent positions – To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

We Require You To Submit
* Provide a comprehensive Resume / Curriculum Vitae, that clearly outlines your transferable skills, experience and highlights your key achievements.

* A copy of your current qualification as set out in the above Eligibility section.
* A statement no more than three (3) pages addressing your suitability for the role in the context of the following Role Specific Criteria below as listed on the JDF. Please provide examples to support your claims.
* Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and experience in the delivery of evidence-based nursing care relevant to primary care practice setting.
* Demonstrated high level communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to plan and conduct patient/staff education.
* Demonstrates incorporation of quality and risk management within practice.

Open Pool Recruitment
This is an open-ended pool recruitment process which means there is no closing date for applications. We assess candidates on an on-going basis for suitable applicants to be selected to the pool as vacancies arise.
When selected to the pool, this selection will be valid for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
The Department of Justice uses recruitment pools to build a bank of talent for future opportunities. Applicants found suitable in this pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies, with the Department of Justice for the duration of the pool.
