Pro Dive Cairns is a leader in liveaboard diving experiences on the Great Barrier Reef and we are seeking a skilled Head Cook to join our team. You will be responsible for directing culinary operations and providing nutritious meals for guests and crew in a secluded marine setting.
Motivating, guiding, and developing the team of liveaboard cooks, fostering a positive and productive work environment. The Head Cook also guarantees a skilled and cohesive team, dedicated to customer service and enhancing the overall guest experience.
Your role will include:
- Overseeing a team of cooks to facilitate seamless operations
- Providing regular feedback and guidance to the team
- Leading by example when it comes to behavior, meal preparation, presentation, safety, and hygiene practices
- Creating menus to accommodate a variety of dietary requirements and training cooks accordingly
- Anticipating purchasing needs to guarantee timely and efficient supply management
- Ensuring the timely preparation of all meals to coincide with a strict schedule
- Thriving in high-pressure situations while keeping a professional demeanor
- Clearly communicating instructions, expectations, and offering feedback to your team
- Fostering a positive and productive work environment
We are looking for someone who has, or is willing to obtain:
- A Safe Food Handling certificate or qualification
- Current senior first aid and CPR certification is preferable
- A passport and copy of your working rights/visa entitlement (if applicable)
