About the role
Purple Patch Services is seeking an experienced sports turf and grounds maintenance professional to join our team in Yeppoon, Queensland. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of sports fields, parks and other grassed areas to ensure they are well-presented and safe for public use.
What you'll be doing
1. Regularly mowing, edging, line marking, spraying and aerating sports fields and other grassed areas
2. Maintaining irrigation systems to ensure optimal soil moisture levels
3. Applying fertilisers, pesticides and other treatments to promote healthy turf growth
4. Monitoring and repairing any damage or issues with sports fields and grounds
5. Assisting with turf renovations including operating tractors and renovation implements such as sand spreaders, scarifiers etc
6. Keeping detailed records of maintenance activities and reporting on work completed
7. Adhering to all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations
What we're looking for
1. Demonstrated experience in sports turf and grounds maintenance, preferably in a commercial or municipal setting
2. Strong knowledge of turf management practices, including mowing, irrigation, fertilisation and pest control
3. Proficient in the use of relevant machinery and equipment, such as mowers, trimmers and aerators
4. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality results
5. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe and well-presented environment
6. Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
7. A current driver's licence and your own reliable transportation
