Commercial Law Specialist
This is a highly sought-after position that requires the expertise of a commercial law specialist. As a Principal Legal Officer, you will be responsible for leading a team of senior legal officers and providing guidance on complex legal matters.
The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in government procurement and contracting, grants, and property. They will also possess high-quality management and leadership skills to effectively manage and develop senior legal officers and legal officers.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in law from an Australian university or a comparable overseas degree recognised in Australia for admission to practice. They must also have a Practising Certificate or be eligible to attain one, along with at least three years of post-qualification experience.
The classification for the Principal Legal Officer position is set at a salary range of $157,000 to $177,000, plus superannuation. This salary applies to full-time employment, with part-time positions being pro-rata. The role is ongoing (permanent) and full-time, with the possibility of flexible working arrangements in accordance with the Enterprise Agreement and operational requirements.
Eligibility for the position requires Australian citizenship, and the successful candidate must obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (AGSVA) security clearance. Additional clearances, such as Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) and Onboarding Check, may be required depending on specific circumstances.
