This role invites expressions of interest from suitable candidates to join the Nalco Water Heavy division as a Field Service Technician to service clients in Mt Piper and Wollongong. The role includes servicing and maintaining critical water and chemical dosing equipment, conducting regular site checks and liaising with key stakeholders at various heavy industrial sites. The role would suit a hands-on individual who will receive extensive technical and sales training, with mentoring as you build your expertise in the technologies our customers utilize. The role may require travel to client sites and other key customers in the region, including overnight stays.
Responsibilities
* Equipment testing and maintenance, collecting process samples and ensuring the optimal application of chemical treatment programs.
* Working as part of a team to troubleshoot equipment and technical problems in a timely manner to ensure ongoing chemical treatment of process unit operations.
* Developing strong client relationships by delivering value-added and focused service.
* Managing customer inventories and product delivery.
* Gaining a better understanding of in-field process services.

Qualifications & Requirements
* Have a trade qualification or relevant technical experience in mining or heavy industry.
* An interest in being hands-on with chemical dosing systems and customer processes.
* Strong technical problem-solving ability.
* A desire to work in the mineral processing industry.
* A strong aptitude for customer service.
* Ability to work both individually and in a team environment.
* An innate ability to quickly develop rapport and build strong working relationships with users of the products and chemical treatment programs.
* A proactive approach to learning the technical aspects of the business.
* High commitment to Safety, Environment, Occupational Health and Quality.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
