Singleton has developed into the economic beating heart of the State and a centre of industry, heritage, tourism and community.Here at Council, we offer a wide range of services, supporting our community vision to be vibrant, progressive, connected, sustainable and resilient.We're committed to providing an environment where everyone has the opportunity to contribute their unique skills and expertise to make a meaningful impact, while also recognising and appreciating your valuable contributions and ensuring you feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.ADD VALUE - THE ROLEThe Team Leader Parks is responsible for the daily coordination of a small work team that undertakes the maintenance and development of parks, gardens, reserves and other horticultural assets across the Singleton Local Government Area.Key responsibilities include:Plan and programme works and organise the necessary resources to undertake programmed and reactive park maintenance duties.Liaise with the Parks Management Officer on a regular basis regarding quality matters associated with current and future improvement to operational procedures.Develop and implement maintenance schedules and maintain registers associated with duties such as mowing and chemical application.Essential to this role is a Certificate III in Horticulture or related field with experience in the implementation and delivery of parks management programs complemented by the demonstrated ability to work with and manage small teams.Demonstrated ability to read and interpret drawings and plans would be advantageous in this role, however not essential.This position is offered on a permanent full-time basis working 76 hours per fortnight on a team-based 9-day fortnight.
