We're currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Tradesperson to join the Maintenance Leadership Team at the Jubilee Sawmill in Mount Gambier, South Australia as a Workshop Team Leader.
The role:
Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, you will lead the coordination of daily maintenance activities for the mechanical workshop team, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to high standards of quality, cost and environmental performance.
The role focuses on maximising internal resources, while actively training, mentoring and supporting team development, including apprentices.
Working 8 hour day shifts, Monday to Friday plus any required overtime, on an hourly rate of $52.92 per hour (Classification MGMC5T).
You:
* Hold a relevant mechanical trade qualification, with relevant industry experience advantageous
* Are an experience tradesperson ideally with developed trade knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, fitting & machining
* Ideally have previous leadership experience or aspirations to lead a team
* Have an operational safety knowledge with experience completing relevant Safety checks, and the confidence to uphold company safety standards
* Are a good communicator with the ability to lead a team and promote a positive workplace culture
* Are organised with the ability to allocate work and prioritise conflicting priorities to achieve planned outcomes
* Have well-developed problem solving & decision-making skills with the ability to think analytically
* Have sufficient computer skills including Microsoft Suite
The successful candidate will also be open to mentoring our apprentices, and have a professional, positive, can-do attitude. Skills are important; however, the right attitude is essential.
