We are currently looking for a passionate and highly dedicated Sous Chef to join our Black Bar & Grill Team at The Star Sydney.

Responsibilities 
- Assist Chef de Cuisine to manage the effectiveness of guest service, team members' performance and development, and service enhancements
- Oversee multiple stations by supervising and leading by example
- Train and coach Commis and Demi Chefs, and guide employees to perform kitchen operations
- Ensure outlets comply with HACCP standards by conducting daily monitoring and walkthroughs of the back of house
- Review stocktake daily and ensure appropriate orders have been made and stock received
Qualifications 
- Solid experience as a Jr Sous/Sous Chef and relevant tertiary qualifications, such as Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
- Experience working in high-end culinary operations with wood-fire cooking
- Strong understanding of produce, culinary techniques, and kitchen equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to commit to 40 hours per week working varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
