Greenpeace Director Opportunity
We are seeking up to 3 new directors who embody the organisation's values, mission and purpose.
As a leading independent environmental campaigning organisation, we use non-violent direct action and creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems and promote solutions for a sustainable future.
Our goal is to ensure the earth's ability to nurture life in all its diversity. We operate across the Asia-Pacific region, with operations in several countries.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership and guidance on our direction
* Ensure the integrity and accountability of the organisation
* Monitor and review the effectiveness of our programmes and activities
* Offer oversight and support to our CEO and executive team
* Ensure we have the necessary resources to carry out our mission and sustain it over time
Directors are expected to uphold their statutory and fiduciary duties, act with good faith, avoid conflicts of interest, and demonstrate a duty of care, diligence and skill.
Requirements
We're seeking candidates who can demonstrate:
* Strategic leadership and collaboration skills
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* An understanding of corporate governance principles and practices
* A passion for environmental issues and commitment to our values and mission
Applicants should have sufficient time to commit to approximately 15-20 hours of Board work per month. The term is 3 years, with the option of reappointment for a further 3 years.
