ABOUT THE ROLE

Provide high-level strategic advice to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and lead Jacana

Energy's response to the Northern Territory Electricity Market reforms, supporting reform

designed to achieve best outcomes for Jacana Energy and its customers.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

What you will be doing:

1. Deliver the provision of high-level strategic advice across a range of economic, policy,

workforce, and industry development matters to enable Jacana Energy to implement the

Northern Territory (NT) Government's electricity market reform.

1. Provide Jacana Energy's response to and interaction with the NT Electricity Market

reform program and associated arrangements, ensuring alignment with Jacana Energy's

strategic priorities, including enabling Jacana Energy's economic growth.

1. Prepare and manage the development of high-quality responses to reform briefings,

documentation, and correspondence. This includes preparation of Board papers,

Ministerial briefs and responses to industry consultation and information packages

ensuring clarity, accuracy, and strategic alignment.

1. Provide functional input into the development and review of strategic risks, particularly

around wholesale electricity and market reform.

1. Work interdependently, exercise initiative, flexibility, political astuteness, problem solving

skills and sound judgement, based on sound retailing of electricity, economic and policy

principles.

1. Represent Jacana Energy at intergovernmental and industry forums, including

developing and maintaining productive working relationships with key stakeholders to

influence and drive reform outcomes.

1. Comply with the Northen Territory Public Sector (NTPS) and Jacana Energy Code of

Conduct, NTPS and Jacana Energy policies, procedures as well as other relevant

regulatory guidelines.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The ideal candidate must have:

1. A demonstrated level of understanding of the local and national electricity industry's

technical, commercial, and regulatory operating environment, including emerging

developments and reform trends.

1. Strong strategic, conceptual, and analytical skills with a proven record of shaping

strategic direction and achieving organisational outcomes, on time and within budget.

1. Demonstrated knowledge, experience and governance capability including advanced

skills in strategic policy response, planning, complex project delivery, budget

management, and people management skills, supported by superior organisational

coordination skills in a senior operational reform environment.

1. A well-developed understanding of the local and national electricity industry, including

technical, commercial, and regulatory operating environment, and emerging

developments.

1. Exceptional written skills and attention to detail, with demonstrated experience

preparing executive-level correspondence and papers on sensitive and complex

matters.

1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to

effectively engage and influence a broad range of internal and external stakeholders

through constructive leadership and the achievement of pragmatic outcomes.

1. Commitment to providing a high standard of customer service and operating within the

Jacana Energy values of Honesty, Innovation, Teamwork, Diversity and Employee

Wellbeing.

You may also have:

1. Tertiary qualifications in economics, engineering, law, public policy, or other disciplines

relevant to the electricity industry.

1. Experience working in a Government Owned Corporation, utilities industry or similar

complex, regulated environment.
