**Overview**
The **Women's & Children's Health Network** provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia. We are the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being South Australia's largest maternity and obstetric service, and statewide Maternal Fetal Medicine service.
Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.

**The Opportunity**
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Women's and Babies team as a **Medical Consultant - Obstetrician** (specialising in Maternal Fetal medicine) in up to a **full time, ongoing** capacity.
As the Medical Consultant, you will be responsible for providing high quality medical services in all-risk Obstetrics with a focus on high-risk obstetrics and Maternal Fetal Medicine. In this role you will demonstrate evidence of advanced training in Maternal Fetal Medicine and ultrasound in obstetrics and gynaecology (for example CMFM, DDU or other advanced training in maternal Fetal medicine and/or ultrasound, or currently working towards such a qualification).
We have a strong multi disciplinary environment for optimal clinical outcomes, so being an active participant in research and training for TMO's is an integral part of your role. Team work is how we work There is an on call roster for after hours, including delivery suite cover,which you will participate in, and this will entail providing support to junior medical officers.
We have a strong focus on quality improvement processes, and you will be a participant in regular Perinatal Morbidity and Mortality review processes.
You will have the opportunity to be the **leader** in integrating Maternal Fetal Medicine and O&G services across the state, supporting other Local Health Networks and our rural and regional partners.
**About You**
In this specialised role, you will have a Bachelor of **Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)** or equivalent with appropriate **Specialist Qualifications** and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award (Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist (FRANZCOG)) AND a **Qualification of Certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine** (CMFM) with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (or similar), or will be awarded within 6 months.
To be successful in this role, you will use your well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to work with individuals and families for positive health outcomes and to foster productive working relationships both internally and externally. You will also draw upon your experience in developing good working relationships with women, their families and other staff which demonstrates courtesy, respect, consideration, empathy, honesty and openness.
If you have experience in the in the field of all risk Obstetrics and Gynaecology; and Maternal Fetal Medicine specifically; gained through working in a large public tertiary centre and Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit.
