**Digital Infrastructure Engineer (Controls)**

This role offers a unique opportunity to join our operations team, maintaining critical facilities infrastructure as part of a close-knit team delivering best-in-class service to our data center customers. Our Critical Facilities Specialists operate, manage, maintain, and repair critical and non-critical power systems, HVAC, BMS, plumbing, fire control & suppression, and all site services. This position focuses on Controls expertise, requiring applicants to have a solid grounding in Controls (electrical and mechanical) and be able to support the Controls Engineering team.

The ideal candidate will possess recent hands-on service experience, enabling them to conduct minor maintenance upgrades and develop into our Controls SME at ME1/2. They must be able to hold vendors accountable for any upgrades or repair work and take a lead role on site-based Controls related activity, including project work, commissioning, BMS work, and rollouts.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Complete maintenance protocols, plans, activities on time and accurately, including daily, weekly, and monthly site checks.
* Collaborate with the Controls Engineering team to ensure strategies and architecture are implemented at site level.
* Take a lead role on site-based Controls related activity, including project work, commissioning, BMS work, and rollouts.
* Operate and program Controls systems, managing specialist vendors for major works, planned repairs, and maintenance.
* Perform minor changes to mechanical, electrical, and special systems if necessary.
* Ensure sufficient spare parts are available on site for frequently used parts or parts with long lead times.
* Monitor and respond to BMS alarms, escalating to the Controls Engineering team when required.
* Participate in an on-call roster, acting as the first responder for sites' incidents.
* Coordinate work with vendors to ensure maintenance activities meet Equinix requirements.
* Commission and project work varying in scale and scope.
* Edit and track the work approval process for service providers.
* Evaluate processes, procedures, and systems, communicating deviations and proposed changes.
* Develop training and support training of other IBX employees in relevant engineering topics and processes.

**Qualifications, Key Skills, and Attributes:**

* Practical experience in critical facility operations, focusing on Controls systems.
* Trade qualification or degree certification.
* Sound knowledge or understanding of engineering disciplines - HVAC, electrical, and controls.
* Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical and electrical systems.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
* Capability to execute tasks through effort and collaboration without formal written process.
* Able to acquire NV1 Security Clearance.
* Collaborative mindset with drive to complete assigned tasks autonomously.
