Nurse Lecturer Position: Empowering the Next Generation of Healthcare Professionals

THE ROLE:
AMA College is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic full-time Nurse Lecturer to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing education and training whilst ensuring their learning experience is positive and engaging.
This role emphasises clinical skill development, simulation facilitation, and competency assessment to ensure students transition seamlessly from the classroom to the clinical setting.
AMA College's campus has a fully equipped simulation ward, is welcoming and conveniently located in the heart of Joondalup.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Deliver highly engaging and effective lectures and practical classes using contemporary education methodologies, with face-to-face engagement for small classes.
* Facilitate practical skills sessions in our high-fidelity lab, focusing on developing safe, effective, and efficient nursing competencies in core nursing procedures and critical thinking.
* Mentor students to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, emphasising EN standards for practice and NSQHS and procedures.
* Role-model professional nursing standards, ethical behaviour, and effective communication skills for students.
* Coordinate and Supervise students during clinical placements in various healthcare settings, ensuring required practical hours and workplace skills are achieved.
* Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and quality assurance processes.
* Review and update training and assessment materials to ensure alignment with current nursing trends, best practice, and nursing standards.
* Engage in continuous professional development, staying current with the latest clinical practices, educational technologies, and healthcare policy changes.
ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA:
1. Current, unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
2. Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110, as outlined in the standards for RTO's 2015.
3. Demonstrated and recent post-registration clinical nursing experience (minimum 3-5 years).
4. Demonstrated ability to deliver quality education in classroom or clinical/simulation settings and assess student competency objectively within the vocational education and training (VET) sector, OR experience as a clinical preceptor/educator.
5. Demonstrated understanding of current nursing best practices and national standards.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
1. Demonstrated experience in delivering the HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing, curriculum development, and educational principles.
2. Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills with the ability to share your knowledge and expertise with students in an engaging and motivating style through contemporary instructional design and incorporating adult learning theory.
3. Evidence of continuous professional development and currency with the latest clinical practices and healthcare policy changes.
4. Strong digital literacy and proficiency, to enhance teaching, assessment, and student engagement.
5. Demonstrated ability in delivering or adapting education and mentoring for Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital skills within the vocational education and training (VET) sector or similar.
