About the role
The Health Information Management Service comprises Clinical Document Processing Unit, Medical Records, Switchboard Services, Clinical Coding and Health Information Management.
The primary role of the Clinical Document Processing Unit is to provide retrieval and storage services for paper-based medical records and clinical document processing and quality assurance for the digital medical record.
About you
- Demonstrated attention to detail in the processing of medical records to ensure patient information is processed within stringent timeframes, records are accurate and of a high standard.
- Knowledge of or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of basic medical terminology to extract and interpret pertinent information for patient medical records and hospital information systems.
- Demonstrate ability to exercise judgment in processing urgent and non-urgent requests for patient records to ensure timely continuity of patient care.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills ensuring the provision of excellent customer service to both internal and external clients.
- Demonstrated ability to participate as part of a cohesive team environment by sharing information, support and assisting colleagues in a proactive manner.
- Maintain confidentiality during the management of patient medical records in both electronic and paper format.
**Mandatory Requirements**:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Vaccinated against COVID-19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.12/21and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
